We will be highlighting tools we use in our elementary school program. In this program,
students use physical and technology tools to create, communicate, and
collaborate while engaging in STEAM explorations. Children will experience making and racing their very own Brush Bots. Musical sounds will also be created utilizing kitchen utensils and the Makey Makey. Opportunity to view Hummingbird robots that have been created by second grade students based on their environmental field trip.
The Fox Chapel Area School District elementary schools provide an environment and resources for students, Pre-K to 5th grade, to develop 21st century skills through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) integration. Examples of projects have included Hummingbird robotics, Rube Goldberg machines, creating and maintaining sustainable organic gardens, and experiences at the District’s Fab Lab.
